Is the Inner Shift Experience quiz free?

Yes — the full assessment is free. It runs four modules (cognitive typing, Enneagram, Big Five, behavioral style) and returns a detailed multi-lens profile with no paywall.

How long does the quiz take?

Most people finish in 18–25 minutes. You can pause any time — progress is saved to your email so you can resume on the same or a different device.

Which personality frameworks does it use?

Four independent frameworks run in parallel: Jungian cognitive typing (the 16 types), Enneagram, the Big Five / OCEAN trait model (IPIP-NEO items with percentile scoring), and a behavioral dialogue (DISC).

How accurate is it compared to a one-framework test?

Each framework checks the others. Agreement across the four views is a strong signal; disagreement surfaces real tension that a single test would hide. The Big Five scores are percentile-ranked against a research-backed population sample.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. From any results page you can request deletion — we send a one-time confirmation link, and on click, every record tied to your email is purged.

Do I need an account?

You can take the quiz with just an email. Signing in (via magic link or 6-digit code) unlocks resume across devices, connections with friends, and compatibility reports.

Who we are

What we collect

When you take the assessment, we collect:

Your email address — used to save your progress and let you resume later.
Your first name — optional, used to personalize the experience.
Your quiz answers — the buttons and Likert ratings you click during the cognitive-type and Big Five sections.
Your conversation messages — the free-text responses you type during the disambiguation, enneagram, and behavioral-style confirmation phases.
Your computed personality results — 4-letter cognitive type, Enneagram type, DISC style, and Big Five percentiles.
Your satisfaction rating and optional feedback — if you choose to leave a rating on your results page.
Technical metadata about your session: user-agent string, screen size, browser locale, referring URL, and any UTM campaign parameters on the link you arrived from. This helps us diagnose issues and understand where users are coming from.
An event log of your quiz session: timestamps for when each question was shown and answered, how long each answer took, when each phase (cognitive type, enneagram, DISC, Big Five) completed, whether you clicked "back", whether the conversation was force-concluded at the turn cap, any errors surfaced to you, and when/if you abandoned the quiz. This is operational analytics only — not advertising tracking — and is stored against your email, not a cookie.

To compute your personality assessment and show you results.
To save your progress so you can resume mid-quiz if you close the browser.
To improve the assessment by reviewing how the guided conversations actually go (anonymized analysis).
To contact you only if you reach out to us first.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party advertisers.

Who we share it with

To run the assessment, your text responses are sent to Anthropic, a third-party language processing provider, so the system can have a conversation with you. Anthropic processes these messages under their own privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy. Your data is stored in an encrypted database hosted by Neon. We do not share your data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Completed assessments: kept indefinitely so you can return and view your results, unless you request deletion.
Abandoned in-progress sessions: automatically deleted after 7 days of inactivity.
Event log (timing, funnel, errors): pruned after 180 days by an automatic retention job.
Satisfaction ratings and feedback: kept with your completed assessment (follows the same retention as the assessment itself).

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access a copy of the data we hold about you — export it as JSON here.
Correct inaccurate data — email us and we'll fix it.
Delete your data — including results, conversation history, and all event-log rows. Request deletion here; we'll email a confirmation link to verify the request.
Object to processing or withdraw consent.
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we've mishandled your data.

Self-service export and deletion are available at /data. For anything else, email info@innershiftexp.com from the address you used to take the assessment. We respond within 30 days, as required by GDPR Article 12(3) and CCPA §1798.130(a)(2).

Cookies and tracking

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. The assessment uses sessionStorage to remember your email for quiz resume — this is not a cookie and is not sent to any server.

We do run our own first-party operational analytics: the event log described in "What we collect" above. It measures how long each section takes, where people drop off, and when errors are shown — information we use to improve the assessment. It's not shared with anyone and is not used for advertising.

Children's data

This assessment is not intended for users under 16. If you are under 16, please do not submit personal data to this site. If we learn we have collected data from a child without parental consent, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes, we'll notify you when you next return to the assessment.
